Artwork by local children, who have been inspired by Stowe Landscape Gardens, goes on display in the New Inn there tomorrow, Saturday.
The free exhibition will showcase art, photos, drawings and sculptures created by children from St James and St John Primary School in Chackmore and Akeley, which has had a community guardianship relationship with the National Trust at Stowe for three years.
The partnership enables pupils to make regular visits to the landscape gardens, treating them as an extension of the school classroom for both education and fun.
All of the artworks have been inspired by the National Gallery’s Take One Picture project. The children studied the picture Still Life With Drinking Horn, painted by Willem Kalf in 1653.
The project led to children going on a pilgrimage around Stowe dressed as medieval pilgrims.
The exhibition runs until Thursday, October 25.
