Plans for flights to Edinburgh and Dublin from Kidlington have been welcomed by Oxfordshire County Council.
Services from the London Oxford Airport are due to start in March, and the county council says the flights could boost the county’s economy and create new business opportunities.
Council leader, Councillor Ian Hudspeth, said: “It stands to reason that linking Oxfordshire with two major capital cities by air, is going to be good for our local economy, both in terms of attracting business trips as well as leisure travel.”
He added: “London Oxford Airport is an excellent facility, which serves as a gateway for people to get to and from the businesses that operate in Oxfordshire without the need to go to one of the major international airports.” Flights from £50 can be booked online at www.minoanair.com.
