Debutant Dominic Schembre ensured Buckingham Town picked up their first point of the season in Division One of the United Counties League with a late equaliser against ON Chenecks.
The Robins were were ahead at the interval thanks to a Ben Shepherd goal after 38 minutes, but Chenecks struck back with goals from Elliott Muddiman on 68 minutes and, just five minutes later, Darren Inns with his first goal for the club.
Schembre, however, ensured Buckingham enjoye a share of the spoils seven minutes from time.
Buckingham boss Neil Griffiths said: “Saturday was another disappointing performance and we know we have a lot more to give than we are currently showing.
“We had reacted very well in training to our opening day defeat and from that point of view I couldn’t be happier.
“It was frustrating as the quality of play we have seen in pre season hasn’t surfaced yet. We equalised late on to at least get us a point from the game and the main positive I can take is that we are operating at about 60 per cent and not losing.”
Buckingham will be looking for their first win of the campaign when they entertain Thrapston Town on Wednesday evening.
