As Cherwell District Council celebrates the ten-year anniversary of their recycling campaign, sales of their recycling bins are increasing.
Cherwell residents have been able to purchase recycling bins at a discount throughout July and August as part of the celebrations.
Typical sales of the bins during July and August are usually about 200 bins, but this year, at their reduced price, 1,046 bins have been sold to date.
Cllr Nigel Morris, lead member for clean and green, said the sales of the bins have been “astonishing”. He added the response to the discounted bins “just proves how dedicated our residents are to making Cherwell a cleaner and greener place”.
The bins are available in two sizes and will continue to be sold at their reduced price of £10 from www.cherwell.gov.uk until August 31. They can be ordered by calling 01295 22003 or picked up from the Thorpe Lane depot in Banbury.
