YOUTH FOOTBALL: Towcester Town Lions U10’s went down 3-1 to Daventry Town Vikings.

Daventry scored three goals before the Lions replied with Owen Sturgess slipping the ball under the keeper. The Lions fought hard in the second half to score again but were unable to hit the back of the net. Ronan Hunt was awarded man of the match for his hard work in defence.

>>Towcester Town Foxes U9’s beat Welland Valley Yellow 4-1.

Towcester Foxes kept up the pressure from the off against Welland. The first goal came from Ethan Saliwonczyk followed by two more from Harvey Williams in the second half. Excellent defence from Ethan Hurrell kept Welland at bay before Trent Oakes went on to score the fourth goal. A slip from the keeper saw Welland score their only goal in the match. Man of the was Connor Proctor.

>>Towcester Town Tigers U9’s lost 3-1 against Brixworth Panthers. Tigers were unlucky to lose this game after another good team performance. Despite starting well, they were soon a goal down after a Brixworth corner was cruelly deflected into the goal. Their bad luck continued shortly afterwards when a penalty was given against them for handball. Keeper William Hunt made a fine save but in the following melee the ball was scrambled over the line. Tigers continued to attack and were finally rewarded when Zach Driver-Eagles scored just before half-time. In the second half, despite Tigers dominating, a Brixworth counter-attack resulted in a fine shot to seal victory. Man of the match was Harvey Taylor.
