Evenley lost ground in the SNCL Premier Division title race when they were beaten by Marston St Lawrence while Syresham, Byfield and Middleton Cheney all won.
Middleton remain top by four points from Byfield following a two-wicket win over Warwick University Staff. Syresham (169-3) are two points further back in third after Darren Beckett (78no) and Richard Wyness (4-48) shone in their win over Castlethorpe (100-8).
Evenley are now 23 points adrift of top spot as they lost to Marston St Lawrence. Harry Brooker was on-form with the ball, taking 6-43 to restrict Marston to 181-8, but poor batting left Evenley on 122-9 when the heavens opened.
In Division One, leaders Greens Norton chased down a revised target of 96 to win a rain-affected game against Evenley A. Matt Yuill was the star of the show, first taking 6-32 with the ball and then scoring 66 with the bat.
At the bottom of the table, Croughton moved away from danger thanks to a three-wicket triumph over Willoughby while Thornborough’s game against Radway was abandoned due to rain.
Hinton-in-the-Hedges are the new leaders in Division Two after they scraped home by one-wicket against Hanslope with Paul White picking up 4-10.
With Priors’ game against Marston St Lawrence A abandoned due to rain, Hinton go top by three points.
Division Three was also heavily affected by the weather with four of the scheduled five matches unable to be played to a conclusion. In the one match that did take place, Helmdon beat bottom of the table Crown by eight wickets.
Wroxton A have extended their lead at the top of Division Four courtesy of an eight-wicket win over Preston Bissett. Thornborough A’s title hopes took a blow when they slumped to 58 all out in a 57-run defeat to Flecknoe.
This weekend, the top two in the Premier Division face each other as Byfield host MIddleton Cheney, while third-placed Syresham entertain Charlton. In Division One, Willoughby visit Evenley A and Thornborough host Bodicote.
