Children from Years Six to 11 who are looking to stave off boredom this school holidays are welcome at a number of clubs.

Gaming, music, pool, table football and basketball are some of the activities on offer at Buckingham Youth Centre during the summer holidays and for the first time year six students (aged 11) will be welcome at the Friday club.

The club for year sevens (children aged between 11 and 12) operate on Fridays, from 4.30pm to 6.30pm while youngsters from years eight and nine (12 to 14) can attend the club on Mondays, between 7pm and 9.30pm.

Young people aged from 14 to 16 (years 10 and 11) are welcome at the youth centre on Thursdays, from 7pm to 9.30pm.

All of the clubs are £1 per session with free membership. There is also no charge for your first visit.

The clubs operate with paid staff who are all police checked and who have full youth leader training.

The youth centre wants to involve young people in the running and decision-making of their clubs so ideas are welcome.

For older students aged over 15, there is a seniors/music club on the second, fourth and fifth Fridays in the month, from 7pm to 9.30pm. Entry is £1 and people can come just to listen to music or, if they are in a band, can practice or play.

For more information, contact youth club leader Jim Whatmore on 07934 784341 or email buckinghamyc@
