Children at a village school have raised £466.55 for the Florence Nightingale Hospice.

Pupils at East Claydon School and Pre-School have been learning about the work that Florence Nightingale did and the influence she had on the way hospitals are today. After learning about the work of the hospice, the children decided to hold a superhero fun run, a pyjama breakfast and a cake sale to raise money for the charity.

Patrick Fealey, who is an ambassador for the hospice, visited the school to talk to the children about the charity’s work.

After asking lots of questions about how the money they raised would be spent, the children presented Mr Fealey with a cheque for £466.55 for the charity.
